Have you ever had an idea, and, without thinking too much about it, just went for it? Like a new venture? Or something that just occurs to you? That’s what happened this week with me. I actually can’t believe that I did this, and to some it may not be a big deal…but to me, it’s pretty darn cool.
This whole idea started with a drive to do errands. Run here. Run there. But have I, in the last two months, ever made time to stop at the local wool store? Nope. Not even once. Well, this was the week of exploration. And being brave. And beginning a new venture.
This week I stopped in and looked around. I noticed some locally made project bags for sale. I saw them, and I knew I had to ask. Would they be interested in anything I made? Yes, yes they would be! Yahoo!!
As you all may know, I love to sew. I also like creating patterns when I can’t find one to use. I don’t always apply energy to creating projects from scratch, but when I do, I pour my whole being into it until it’s done. Which is why you would have found me in front of the sewing machine with a calculator and a pair of scissors Monday night.
What came out of that night’s work was a project bag that I’m pretty excited about! In fact, I brought this bag to the wool shop, and they have commissioned a number of them. Yippee! This means I get to go shopping for cool fabric, and sew some bags that I know people will use because I, as a knitter, would use this style of bag.
I also have some plans for this new venture. I plan to make this pattern available to sell… just as soon as I’ve tested it out a bit, and created a PDF for it. Hopefully it will be a project that you all can enjoy sewing. Until later, happy Thursday!
