It’s tough being a leftie. Everything is built for right-handed people. Tutorials for embroidery stitches are usually written for right-handed people.
So, I decided to give you a tutorial for left-handed people because of this. I give you the French knot! For lefties! Yay!
Here is a list of supplies you will need for this tutorial.
- 4″ embroidery hoop
- 1 embroidery needle. I prefer these.
- embroidery thread- about 12″ long
- 1 10″X10″ piece of fabric- I used this
Step 1:
Bring your needle up from the back of your fabric. Pull the embroidery floss all the way until the knot stops it.
Step 2:
With the needle in your left hand, and the thread held by your right fingers, tuck the needle under the embroidery floss. See below.
Step 3:
Wrap the embroidery floss three times around the needle.
Step 4:
Once the floss is wrapped around the needle, place needle down into the fabric at the same spot you came up in step 1.
Step 5:
There you have it! The French knot for lefties. It will look like the picture below when you pull the embroidery floss all the way through.
