The Best Cheese Biscuits

Tender, crisp and full of flavour, these cheese biscuits will be sure to make it into your recipe box!

  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup milk


  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt together in a large bowl.
  • Shred at least one cup of cheese- I use up to two cups. Add to flour mixture.
  • Add milk and oil. Mix well.
  • Turn out on floured surface, and knead about 10 times.
  • Roll out to about 1/2" thick, and cut into approximately 3"squares.
  • Place on greased or parchment paper covered cookie sheet. Bake for 15 minutes. Mine were done at 17 minutes. Watch carefully.
  • Enjoy split open with butter!
